Privacy Policy
Waker is an alarm app that verifies your morning mission with your iPhone's camera. It is built to know as little about you as possible.
The short version
- Your camera data never leaves your iPhone. Rep counting runs entirely on-device. No photo, video, or depth data is ever recorded, stored, or uploaded — frames are processed in memory and immediately discarded.
- No accounts. We don't know who you are. There is nothing to sign up for and no profile to delete.
- The alarm works offline. Scheduling, ringing, missions, streaks, and the escape hatch make zero network calls.
- We don't track you. No advertising identifiers, no cross-app tracking, no data sales. Ever.
Data stored on your device only
Alarm settings, mission history, streaks, and escape-pass usage are stored locally on your iPhone (and in your device backups, which Apple encrypts per your iCloud settings). Deleting the app deletes this data.
Data processed by third parties
Purchases (Superwall + Apple). Our subscription paywall is powered by Superwall, and payments are handled by Apple's App Store. When you view the paywall or purchase, Superwall receives standard purchase and paywall-interaction events tied to a device-level identifier (Apple's "identifier for vendor"). We have no accounts, so there is no email or account identity to send.
The one exception is your first name. If you gave one during setup, we send it to Superwall so the paywall can greet you by it. That is the only answer from setup that ever leaves your iPhone — your wake time, age range, sleep answers, goals and everything else you told us stay on this device. If you would rather not share it, you can enter anything you like as your name; nothing checks it.
This is used to operate the paywall and measure it in aggregate, not for advertising. See Superwall's privacy policy (superwall.com/privacy) and Apple's (apple.com/legal/privacy).
Apple processes your payment; we never see your payment details.
Permissions we ask for and why
- Alarms (AlarmKit): to schedule and ring your wake-up alarms, including the backup alarms that re-ring until your morning mission is done.
- Notifications: for the late backup nudges if you keep skipping the mission.
- Camera: to run the wake-up mission — counting pushups, squats or a plank hold, or recognising the household object you were sent to find. On-device only, as above.
You can revoke any of these in Settings at any time; the app will tell you what stops working.
Children
Waker is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.
